Building better communities … together. HBA’s Charitable & Educational Foundation was established in 1991 to promote and improve the availability of affordable housing opportunities for low income families throughout Southeastern Michigan.
It also created a viable opportunity for HBA members to give back to their communities by volunteering their professional talents and skills, and making cash and in-kind contributions to help meet the needs of those less fortunate.
Since its inception, the Foundation has raised and distributed nearly $1.6 million to housing-related nonprofits including Lighthouse of Oakland County, Michigan Colleges Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Southwest Solutions and Project Build!
Project Build! is a program of Jewish Family Services – Detroit (JFS) in partnership with Home Builders Association of Southeastern Michigan.
ProjectBuild! provides JFS clients with safe and barrier-free homes through pro-bono repairs and renovations provided by local builders, remodelers and suppliers. Click here to learn more…

HomeAid America — and its various local chapters, including HomeAid Southeastern Michigan — work with local service organizations to “build and maintain dignified housing where homeless families and individuals can rebuild their lives.” Click here to learn more…
