In our efforts to best engage the HBA community and City of Detroit officials it is our goal to develop a one-page mission statement/goals for the Detroit Builder Forum. This document will be used to increase engagement for HBA Members and appropriate City of Detroit departments, and provide a defined purpose for our group. To assist in development of this document, please complete the short questionnaire below.

Do you have current or upcoming projects in the City of Detroit?
What excites you about the opportunity to build within the City?
What is your understanding of the planning for future development in the City?
Are there certain neighborhoods you are interested in learning more about the future plans and vision of the Mayor’s office and planning department?
What type of housing product would you be interested in bringing to the City?
If not currently working in the city, what concerns and or information would be helpful in better understanding the opportunities within the City?
If working in the City, what challenges are you facing as it relates to plan review, planning, or BSEED/inspections?
Are you currently employing residents of the City of Detroit?
What resources have you found to be the most useful in resourcing viable applicants within or out of the City for employment opportunities?
As an employer, do you have any experience work with (and/or have knowledge of) the workforce initiatives the City has for employment opportunities?
What challenges do you face working with City officials on your projects?
