SUPPORT BIA-PAC AND FRIENDS OF HOUSING (FOH)
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
One of the MOST vital roles that HBAs perform is advocacy on behalf of both our members and the residential construction industry as a whole.
While advocacy is accomplished in various ways throughout the year, a crucial element is our ability to financially support various local, county and state elected officials and legislators who demonstrate a commitment to our industry and its concerns.
A couple of weeks ago, our 2016 HBA President (Jim Clarke of Robertson Homes) challenged every one of our Board members to give what they feel called to give – a little or a lot, it all helps – to the Political Action Committees (PACs) both here at HBA of Southeastern Michigan (BIA-PAC) and at HBA of Michigan (Friends of Housing).
I want to extend Mr. Clarke’s “challenge” to every one of our nearly 800 members! Whether you are an owner or an employee, you should consider contributing to both of these PACs. While you may not consider yourself a “political person”, the reality remains that laws and regulations can help or more often hurt our industry and YOUR success within it.
